Hot 97’s Summer jam which occurred June 3rd at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey had a lineup that fans will never forget. With artist such a Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross and Big Sean the concert was said to be like a party despite the heavy clouds, and inconsistent weather. As fans present at the concert and streaming from around the world anticipated seeing and hearing songs from their favorite artist, thousands of fans were disappointed when Young Money and Nicki Minaj did not perform or appear at the event due to conflict between radio personality and host of Summer Jam, DJ Peter Rosenberg. The absence of headliner Miss Young Money herself could not stop this electrifying event when artist such as Nas surprised 60,000 fans and performed songs like “Made You Look” and “You Can Hate Me Now.” Not only did Nas surprise fans with his appearance, he also brought R&B legend Lauryn Hill to the stage where she performed hits like “Ready Or Not.” The two then collaborated to perform “If I Ruled the World.” During Wale’s “Slight Work” remix, Wale, French Montana and Big Sean hit the stage, before French announced Ma$e, who appeared and rapped his verse to the remix. Overall the night was filled with endless breathtaking moments, and enthusiastic performances.
